Instant Pass Fold up high speed door
The Instant pass high
speed folding door
is ideal for
use on external walls,
particularly on
exposed sites where it
can comfortably
withstand bad weather
conditions and
high winds.
The Instant Pass door
structure is manufactured
from galvanised steel and
powder coated in a range
of standard colours. It is
self supporting, only
needing to be fixed to the
floor through its feet and
at high level for security
and rigidity.
The two legs act as
guides for the curtain and
also provide the fixings for
a minimum of two self
monitoring safety
photocells, one at 2m high
to prevent anti-lift
(personnel) and a second
approximately 400mm
above finished floor level.
As standard the legs
incorporate an aluminium
extruded profile to protect
the canvas curtain from
excessive wear.
The casing
spanning the guides at
high level, known as ‘the
platform’, incorporates the
geared brake motor with
built in limit switches. It is
connected by a special
coupling to the curtain
lifting tape shaft with
integral patented safety
brake device. It also
incorporates a facility to
adjust the curtain height up
or down and if necessary
at a slight angle to
accommodate sloping
floors and thus ensure the
bottom safety edge ‘envelope’ provides a seal
to the floor.
The curtain is reinforced
with horizontal steel tubes
that provide resistance
against high wind loads.
The ends of the tubes are
capped with rubber to
prevent wear and reduce
noise. Vision panels can be
fitted at no additional cost.
All doors are supplied
with an internal push
button, two photo-electric
safety beams and a stop
and return safety bottom
edge as standard. A full
range of activation
equipment is available on request.
Our doors are built and
factory tested prior to
delivery. This, together with
simple design, ensures that
our doors are installer
friendly and can be fitted in
the minimum time. Most
wiring connections are
made using multi pin plugs
for ease of installation. All
activation and safety
equipment is easily
connected to numbered
terminals within the main
control panel. The doors
are all delivered with full
fitting and wiring
instructions.

Electrical specifications
and activation systems
All door types are
supplied with a geared
motor designed for
intensive use. The
motor is connected to
the shaft by a flexible
coupling to absorb any
vibrations produced,
thus increasing the
operator’s life span.
The motor incorporates
factory set limit switches,
an electric brake and
emergency brake
release.
The door can be opened
and closed in the event of
power failure by hand
crank. A safety interlock
micro switch ensures that
the door cannot be
operated electrically unless
the hand crank has been
replaced.
