Specifications :- Fire Shutter Doors
All fire shutters have been successfully tested to BS476 Part: 22 : 1987 at Warrington Research Centre to 1, 2, and 4 hour.
Construction :-
Curtain - shutter curtains are strongly constructed from continuously interlocking galvanised steel laths, held securely in place by end locks.
Guides - vertical guides are formed from cold rolled steel and are prepared for attachment to jambs.
Finish - galvanised steel laths as standard . Non galvanised parts are prime painted. A range of R.A.L. polyester powder coated colours is available.
Methods Of Operation :-
Self coiling - manually operated by lifting handles on bottom rail.
Mechanical operation - by means of removable winding handles or fixed wheels.
Chain operation - by means of endless steel chain secured to one wall face at lower extremity. Electrical operation - by geared 415 volt, 3 phase, 50cycles motor unit complete with electro-magnetic brake, limit switches and wall mounted control panel incorporating OPEN/CLOSE/STOP push buttons fitted adjacent to shutters.
Electrical operation (Maintained Supply) - by geared 415 volt, 3 phase, 50cycles motor unit complete with electro-magnetic brake, limit switches and wall mounted control panel incorporating OPEN/CLOSE/STOP push buttons fitted adjacent to shutters. Equipment suitable for connecting to your own maintained supply, (secondary mains or generator). Automatic closing in the event of fire, under mains power activated by volt free contact from building main fire alarm equipment. Switchgear to change over to secondary supply in event of mains failure by others.
Electrical Operation (Battery Standby) - by geared 24 volt, motor unit complete with electro-magnetic brake, limit switches and combined custom built control panel/battery console and charger unit, incorporating OPEN/CLOSE/STOP push buttons fitted adjacent to shutters. Equipment suitable for 240volt, single phase, 50cycles mains supply. Automatic closing in the event of fire, activated by volt free contact from building main fire alarm equipment. In the event of mains failure the console automatically switches over to nickel cadmium standby batteries which are constantly trickle charged. Audible alarm sounds during automatic closing and for 30 second period prior to automatic closing.
Accessories/Optional Extras :-
Speed governors for controlled descent can be supplied at an extra cost to chain operated, mechanically operated and electrically operated (not battery standby or maintained supply) shutters are strongly recommended if either clear width or clear height exceeds 3500mm. Quartzoid bulbs and thermo-electric Quartzoid bulbs with smoke detectors and audio visual panels are also available.
